Ulnaria is an araphid genus (possessing no raphe); however they often attach to the bottom by a pad of mucialge secreted from one apex of the cell. Common in rivers and lakes. Ulnaria ulna is a freshwater species.
Ulnaria, species undetermined, found in diatomite deposit at Three Lakes, core TL5, at 3.6 to 3.7 m depth; also in core TL1 at 5.95 m depth.
